Daffodil Diamante

I am learning to write a Diamante Poem

  • use interesting (WOW) words to describe Daffodils
  • use a graphic organiser to help me form my diamond poem

I found it quite tricky to think of all the 'ing' words about daffodils.  It helped me to think of which words went in the right place.  I think my poem is nice.  Elisha  05.09.17

I think this is a challenging task but a good way to develop the words (WOW words) in our writing.
You are thinking of strong verbs and describing words.  A good try.  Mrs Templeton  05.09.17

Tā moko - Maori Patterns

In Term 2 and 3 we have been learning about Maori patterns.  We went to the Auckland museum and the Te Tuhi art gallery.  Look at my moko!

Developing Greater Understanding and Independence

This term I have been learning to ...

develop greater understanding at Level 19-20 (Purple)
  • answer questions about what I've read
  • make a connection to the text
  • use synonyms and antonyms
  • discuss the author's message
  • discuss and describe characters

(Click on full screen or on the slides to view.)

This was tricky for me - It was hard to think of a word to describe an elephant.  I was proud that I finished it.  It might help me to work with another person or to ask for help when I need it.  Elisha  August 2017

I think you found it tricky doing a challenging contract task for the first time.  Keep trying to add lots of detail into your answers so that it shows a deeper understanding of what you have read. Mrs Templeton  15.08.17

Geometry: Classifying 3D Shapes

I am learning to use my own words and the language of geometry to classify 3D shapes.

Reflection:  It was a little bit tricky - I had to name the ones I knew and then work out the one that was left (Cylinder).  I know a lot more than I did before.  It was quite fun doing it.
Elisha  09.08.17

Well done Elisha, you enjoyed this challenge.  The highlighted boxes show your original errors. You were quick to name the shapes and have begun to show greater accuracy when discussing the number of faces, edges and corners of 3D shapes.  11.08.17
